NordicVMUG is coming up

VMUG UserCon

It that time of the year again. It getting cold outside and you need to find the warmth, what better place to go than NordicVMUG and be in the good company of peer nerds. Once again this year, the agenda is packed with cool sessions. There are three types for speakers at these events, peer nerds (like Nicolai Sandager, Simon Eady and me), VMware Tech marketing people (like Cormac Hogan, Duncan Epping and Mike Foley) and sponsors (too many to list), which is how this event stays free of charge for all.

The agenda can be found here

Highlights

I will just highlight a few of the sessions I find very interesting. Simon Eady is talking about “Building Self Healing Environments with vRealize Operations Manager”, had a chat with Simon and saw his desk – A session worth attending. This session is about using vRops to help you do tasks for you, utilizing the Automation Action Framework. It is such a good topic that I have a similar talk later in the day. Where as Simon uses builtin tools, I’m show casing how to use vRO to execute tasks for you. So a different route than what Simon shows. Both very cool ways to get more done faster and with fewer hands.

Moving on, Nicolai Sandager is hosting a “Cross-site NSX deployments and failover scenarios” session. If you want to dig into NSX this is a session you should jump into. There is actually a few NSX related sessions at NordicVMUG. Arista is doing “Building Software Driven Data Centers with Arista and VMware”, Ghaleb Zekri is doing “The Practical path to NSX” and Grant Orchard is all over “Planning your Microsegmentation Design”. If you are not into NSX. vSAN is a topic which is hard to get by. Duncan Epping and Lee Dilworth both have cool sessions around vSAN.

As always there are lots of interesting vendors and solutions at the expo area. So check out the event sponsors https://www.vmug.com/p/cm/ld/fid=15440#anchor5
